Living That Lakeview Life – Heritage Bicycles

I am so very excited to introduce a new series to you! I’m collaborating with one of my favorite Photographers, Angela Garbot, to bring you a monthly feature on local Lakeview businesses!
Living That Lakeview Life’ will highlight some of our favorite spots and provide event information for you to add to your calendar! We’re also sitting down with the owners of these businesses, asking them a few questions on their Lakeview story. Angie always captures the feeling of the stories told in her photos. Her images are always some of my favorites!
In honor of National Bike Month, our first pick was an easy decision! We both love sitting down to brainstorm with our favorite beverages, Angie is a tea drinker (Moroccan Mint, please!) and I can’t live without my coffee!

Heritage Bicycles on Lincoln Avenue provides a comfortable space, has an awesome selection, and offers every service and product you need to get out on your bike!
We both love this business for it’s ambiance and overall vibe. Angie pointed out the fantastic playlist, and we are both looking forward to catching a movie and enjoying their beautiful outdoor space this summer.
We sat down with Michael Salvaotre, the owner of Heritage, and asked him five questions.

How long have you and your business been in the Lakeview area?

We’ve been on Lincoln avenue for over 5 years.
What’s your favorite “secret” thing (makes your business unique) and what do only locals know about your business?
Most people don’t know our spot is a bike and coffee shop. The majority of customers think it’s just a cafe, but we’re a bicycle manufacturer and full-service bike shop as well.
Who’s your favorite Cubs player?
What’s your favorite local spot to eat, drink or shop in Lakeview and what do you love about it?
Side Street Saloon. It’s our neighborhood bar and secret pizza joint.
Give us a personal favorite product you carry or would like to talk about? Coffee brew, bike design…whatever you love!
I ride my Chief (our flagship bike model) all over the city with the family. I can throw a kid’s seat and a trailer on it, and the city is our oyster.

Mike lives in the Lakeview neighborhood with his wife Melissa and their two boys, Bennett and Owen. Heritage is open 7 am to 7 pm, 7 days a week! Be sure to mark your calendar, starting May 25th Heritage will be showing some favorite flicks (Space Jam!? YES!) on their beautiful patio!
Thank You, Mike, for sitting down with us and sharing your business with our Lakeview Neighbors!

Disclaimer- I have not and will not receive any monetary compensation for presenting this business on my blog. The decision to write about them was my own and all views and opinions are my own.
