International Women’s Day

Today is International Women’s Day! I wanted to take a minute to brag about the Women in my life who mean so much to me, professionally and personally.

If you read my blog, you probably already know one of my goals is to connect Independent Beauty Professionals and provide Education and Events to help us all grow. Women play such a huge role in the Beauty Industry, and when we are able to collaborate together, we are unstoppable!

Robin Wilson and Jackelyn Kastanis are two rockstar women who collaborate with other Beauty Pros everyday. These two took time out of their busy schedules to present at my very first Networking Event last month. Yesterday I received the photos from the event and it brought me right back to my nervous excitement that day!2017-03-08_0004.jpg
Earlier this year, Robin decided to close Style by Bravura to focus on other projects. Over the last few years, I’ve worked beside the other SBB Beauty Pros prepping brides for their big day. We are all Independent and each run our own businesses. Some of us provide both hair and makeup services, some work out of shared salon spaces, some own their own salons. Together, we are able to work cohesively to ensure the morning of a wedding day is enjoyable for everyone involved. When I needed help with a larger bridal party or wasn’t available on a date requested, I loved being able to confidently rely on the SBB team! One of my close girlfriends got married in November and the SBB team made sure we all looked beautiful for her big day as well!

I’m also a part of a Women’s Networking Group. We meet each Thursday morning and pass Leads, Referrals, and Contacts to each other to help support each other’s small businesses. This group has been such a huge resource for me and has truly helped me develop my own networking skills. If you’re not regularly networking, you need to start! In my next Workshop on March 20th we’ll be discussing Education and Networking, how the two work well together, and how to find the right fit for your business. Tickets are available here.Personally, I can’t even begin to list the Women in my life who matter so much. I have the strongest Mother and Mother-In-Law, both have endured so much in their lives but have the most positive outlook. My Sister-In-Law couldn’t be a better friend to have as family. I swear we were cut from the same cloth and somewhere way down the line we have to be related!

My girlfriends are all also so supportive of my life, again personally and professionally. Many of them are mothers and wives, and the strength of each of them continues to impress me. I can’t believe how blessed I am to have so many incredible women in my circle!

Happy International Women’s Day to all of the strong Women out there, as well as the strong men who support us every day!

XO,

LW
