29 Mar Beauty in a Carry On
I can’t believe our trip is around the corner and I am so very excited, but there are always so many things on my list to get done the week of travel! With my day to day centered around beauty, I actually try to streamline my beauty routine as much as possible while we are out of town. This time around I’m only packing a carry on, so I need to be extra selective on what makes the cut.
For the plane ride, I’m including some of my favorites, like my favorite eye mask and good old coconut oil to use this on my hands and lips, which get so dry in the air! I’m also packing my FUClothing Versa Wrap to bundle up, compression socks, and my favorite neck pillow! Jon also bought me this carry on Moscow Mule kit, so cute! My day to day hair essentials include shampoo and conditioner, dry shampoo, and Moroccan Oil. I also have my makeup routine down to the basics, my favorite CC Cream, a versatile lip/cheek option, brow gel and mascara.
To streamline my packing process, I’m also eliminating a big beauty task, shaving! I’m receiving laser hair removal at Lapiel Laser Center! So far I’ve had two sessions on my underarms and I’m amazed at my results.
Lapiel is located on Lincoln just north of the Paulina Brown Line. I was first in as a client years ago, seeing Julie Muczynski for skincare. I’ve been interested in Laser Hair Removal but received six treatments elsewhere and didn’t notice much difference. I’m so happy I decided to give it a try again with someone so knowledgable! Catalina Ruiz is the Practice Coordinator and Nurse Practitioner. She’s so informative about the process, from what to expect to how the process will feel. Ariana Gaytan is the Office Manager. She’s made so many great product and service recommendations to me over the years!
I received my first treatment on February 3. Catalina and I sat down for a consultation on the previous Laser Hair Removal experience I had and explained the various Lasers she uses. We talked about pain tolerance and management and what to expect during and after the service. I felt totally comfortable and within 15 minutes both underarms were finished! I rated the pain level at a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale, bearable for sure. Catalina instructed me to avoid any plucking during the shedding process, basically the hair dies and looks almost like a dark pinpoint. I noticed this two to three days post service and made a note to ask about using my Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoilant after my next service. Two weeks later and I made note of minimal hair growth!
My second appointment was on March 9th and my experience was similar. I had only shaved four times between my two appointments, not bad! My skin also seemed noticeably smoother. This time around, I’d put the pain level at a 7, still not bad for such a quick service. Once again, I was done in 15 minutes! I asked Catalina about my at home exfoliating options and she gave me the ok to use my Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant after 24 hours. It made a huge difference in the shedding process! Within three days of my appointment my underarms were hair free and smooth!
